SCATTERED VOICES OF DISSENT WILL NOT HELP SAVE INDIA’S DEMOCRACY:

Separate and scattered non-political voices of dissent against Modi’s push to fundamentally transfer India to dictatorial rule will not help save the nation’s democracy from the dirty hands of Hindutva.

India’s democracy needs a collective mainstream rally to breathe, survive, and thrive and let the Muslims, the minorities, and the Dalits feel safe in their own country, living from generation to generation.

Writer Arundhati Roy, actor Naseeruddin Shah, columnist Barkha Dutt, TV show host Ravish Kumar, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, poet Javed Akhtar, economist Raghuram Rajan, historian Romila Thapar, Nobel Prize winners Abhijit Banerjee and Amartya Sen, and many, many more, in the educational faculties, India’s film industry, social organizations, human rights activists, etc., etc., hundreds and thousands of them, now unitedly come down on the street, like the Kisan rallies, while picking up more on their juggernaut protest march.
