CALL TO BOYCOTT ELECTIONS IN INDIA

Given the authoritarian and arrogant rule of the Modi government with the weaponization of the laws and the Enforcement and Economic Intelligence Agency, aka ED, my call to the Opposition parties in India is to boycott the upcoming elections.

Opposition leaders are facing harassment, raids and jailed with cooked-up charges. The latest victim is the serving chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal. Before that, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren faced the same wrath from the Modi government.

Opposition MPs are expelled from the Parliament on irrelevant and bogus charges while the Congress Party’s accounts are frozen.

Most media are sitting in Modi’s lap, buttering and amplifying their master’s voice, while he giddyap his rides on the back of his blind followers.

The electronic voting machines are programmed with the press of a button, which can direct the flow of voting in the direction and pile of the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party under Modi’s strict command.

The virtue of boycotting the parliamentary election carries the impact of exposing the reality of today’s India to the world and the fact that the polls are just a theatre when the results are decided even before the counting begins.

And once the largest democracy in the world, it is now the largest autocracy.

With the shame of the boycott, let Modi win the election to enjoy a vast majority, but that would put him in the category of Russia’s Putin, China’s X-Ping, Turkey’s Erdogan, Hungary’s Orban, or the late Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe, who always secured at least 98 percent of the votes. With the boycott, Modi can beat Mugabe’s feat with a score of 100 percent win.
