Does consciousness or ‘Atma’ die too after bodily death? Or it survives to re-enter a new body.
A Los Vegas billionaire real estate mogul, Robert Thomas Bigelow, is offering $1 million to help figure out the survival of consciousness after the body becomes lifeless.
According to the New York Times, “Last June, four months after bone marrow disease and leukemia claimed the life of his wife of 55 years, Mr. Bigelow quietly founded the Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies to support research into what happens after death.”
What is consciousness? The dictionary explanation is: “full activity of the mind and senses.”
In that activity, the knowledge gained through external or inherent factors stimulates a conscious mind’s development. Consciousness is both a biological and psychological phenomenon that correlates with each other.
Is consciousness an import from an unknown source that plugs into the body to make it conscious, suggesting consciousness and the physical body are separate and independent? Then how the relationship gets connected or disconnected.
Another theory called panpsychism states that the formation of consciousness in the body happens when a particular alignment of the body’s particles or molecules gets completed.
But who and how this alignment gets initiated? Does divinity play a role in creating consciousness?
Mr. Bigelow seeks answers about the mysteries of the invisible something, controlling our mind and senses’ activities.
