As the year 2020 departs just at the moment clock hits midnight, we welcome the arrival of 2021. Two images get conceived; one moves in, another moves out. These are like two individual personalities, the new and the old one.

But what is the difference besides the old and new names, 2020 and 2021?

We see, feel, observe, or experience our daily life’s routines in the morning or evening of December 31, which would look the same next day, January 1.

Yesterday’s entities would roll along to turn into today’s realities. The good and bad of 2020 would stay the same or in a new shape and size. Of course, the weatherman would advance some changes in the movements of clouds and temperature.

So, what is the big deal?

The excitement lies in our optimism.

We roll out the New Year with messages of greetings and exchange best wishes for a happy, healthy and peaceful 2021.

The social greetings look familiar and formal.

But the rituals create an inspiring environment to review, readjust and resolve our activities, including our thoughts that influence our actions—the law of karma kicks in, what we sow, so shall we reap in 2021 and beyond.

Sowing the seeds of goodwill for oneself, for others, humanity, or the universe is the “Karm” we need to do. Together, we enjoy the fruits of good karmas that bring peace and prosperity to our shared global village, where we see no poverty, no refugees, no violence, and no Coronavirus, just peace and happiness all around.

  1. You couldn’t have put it in a better way than that and so true on how we celebrate as if there is no tomorrow. Next year on Jan 1 shall be the same celebration, I bet!
