HAPPY NATIONS OF THE WORLD

According to the World Happiness Report 2025, Finland has once again bagged the gold medal in the global joy Olympics, topping the list for the eighth year in a row. With its postcard-perfect landscapes, rock-solid social welfare, and enviable work-life balance, the country keeps proving that Finns always win when it comes to happiness.

Meanwhile, at the bottom of the happiness heap, Afghanistan sits at 147th place, while India has climbed to 118th, up from 126 last year—small gains in the grand pursuit of joy.

Besides Finland, the top ten happiest nations include Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Israel (yes, you read that right), the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Australia.

Canada is perched at 15th, while Trump’s MAGA land comes much below at 24th—perhaps proving that all the winning hasn’t exactly translated into grinning.

The World Happiness Index goes beyond dollars and decimals to measure happiness holistically. Rankings are based on factors like GDP per capita, life expectancy, social support, freedom of choice, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.

This year brought some surprise smiles—Costa Rica has danced into 6th place, and Mexico has cracked the top 10, proving that happiness isn’t just about bank balances but also about vibrant culture, strong social bonds, and a healthy dose of mañana-mindset optimism.

Moral of the story? Money talks, but happiness hums a different tune.
